Notably, Edgar Cayce's birth certificate shows he was born at 1:30 PM, as he himself had written in a letter dated September 16th 1935, which I quote:
"...I was born on March 18, 1877, in Hopkins- ville, Christian County, Kentucky, at 1:30 o'clock on a Sunday afternoon. However, I have had several astrologers tell me it was impos- sible for me to have been born at that time, else I would have been a girl. But this is the actual record from my parents, the physician, and the birth certificate record..." [end quote from reading report 0254-002#r4] "According to the information I can gather [from my father, etc.] I was born at one-thirty (1:30)
P.M. in Christian County, near Hopkinsville, Ky., on March 18, 1877." [0294-008#r13]
In a reading dated "19th day of March 1919" Cayce contradicts his birth certificate time as follows:
"...this body here [Edgar Cayce] born March 18, 1877, three minutes past three o'clock, with the Sun descending, on the wane, the Moon in the opposite side of the Earth (old moon), Uranus at its zenith, hence the body is ultra in its actions. Neptune closest in conjunction or Neptune as it is termed in Astrological sur- vey, in the ninth house; Jupiter, the higher force of all the planets, save the Sun, in des- cendency, Venus just coming to horizon, Mars just set, Saturn - to whom all insufficient matter is cast at its decay - opposite the face of the Moon. Hence the inclination as the body is controlled by the Astrological survey at the time of the birth of this body, either (no middle ground for this body) very good or very bad, very religious or very wic- ked, very rich or always losing, very much in love or hate, very much given to good works or always doing wrong, governed entirely by the will of the body. Will is the educational fac- tor of the body; thence the patience, the per- sistence, the ever faithful attention that should be given to the child when it is young.

Notably, Gladys' comment indicates her skepticism as to the veracity of the time given, which is an hour and a half off from what Cayce's father said.
"No astrologer ever was satisfied with any of the hours specified for his birth, so I would think that the original 2:30 P.M. one was the correct one, since it was not wavered by any- one's questioning of the time. I notice that in Thomas Sugrue's article...he uses 3:20 P.M.
for Edgar Cayce's chart. So, apparently, there was quite a bit of fluctuation by Edgar Cayce himself in reporting his birth time, due to being influenced by different astrologer's who tried to set it at a different point." [0294/008#r14]
Where exactly her "original 2:30?" time came from is uncertain. Certainly Edgar Cayce said 1:30 not
2:30, and back in 1877 Shank's says LMT, which is only about 10 minutes from what would soon become
Central Standard Time, -5:50 / -6:00 respectively.
Having recomputed Cayce's natal chart per Cayce's own written & signed testimony, here's the result:

CONCLUSION: Since the many astrologers who attemp- ted to "rectify" Cayce's natal horoscope--against what his own birth certificate, as his own father told him was correct,--then the actually original birth time for Cayce is approximately 1:30 PM LMT.
Notably Venus transited the cusp at about 1:22 PM to reign in the second house of the horoscope, or just 8 minutes before the time given, and was the only planet to transit a cusp until about 2:09 PM when the Sun transited the same cusp into the 2nd house under ruling Venus. Neptune transited MC at
2:20 PM. But not until Jupiter transited the cusp at 2:24 PM did the horoscope change rulership. It is amazing that none of Cayce's astrologers could simply accept the 1:30 Birth Certificate time. It is easy to see that Cayce's natal Moon was ruling in the fourth house, Jupiter ruling twelfth house, and Venus was ruling in the second house. Fortune was acquiring in opposition to Venus in 0:25' orb with Uranus in the eighth house (being exalted by ruling Venus), tail of the Dragon first house and
Mars is under ruling Jupiter in the twelfth house.
Cayce's souljourning planet Uranus crested the As- cendant about 3:05 PM. Assuming Cayce's birth cer- tificate is accurate, then the following readings are far more easily reconciled with his horoscope:
"In the sojourn in the present earth's plane, we find the entity took its position from that of Uranus, with the elements of Venus, Neptune, Jupiter and Mercury, with the affliction in Mars and Saturn. In this sojourn in the rela- tions with other planets, we find the entity having passed through all the stage, or planes, yet returning in the earth's plane for that merited in the earth plane return through Sa- turn's forces for the again development in the Universal Forces as are applied to the mani- festations of soul and spirit entities through the physical or earth plane...
"Then we have with reference to the sojourn in the other spheres, and in this plane, these ur- ges in the individuality of the entity: One to many peoples very contradictory in thought, ac- tion and deed. One little understood or compre- hended by the greater mass of people....In the mental urges we find that of the universality in the Jupiter forces, yet ever with the Venus forces dominant in entity's action, and with these often with Mars' influence brings condem- nation to the entity. "From an astrological aspect, then, the greater influence at the entrance of this entity that ye call Cayce was from Uranus. Here we find the extremes.... Then in the Uranian sojourn there are the influences from the astrological aspects of EXTREMES; and counted in thy own days from the very position of that attunement, that tone, that color. For it is not strange that music, color, vibration are all a part of the planets, just as the planets are a part - and a pattern - of the whole universe....
"The birth of the entity into Uranus was not from the earth into Uranus, but from those stages of consciousness through which each entity or soul passes. It passes into oblivion as it were, save for its consciousness that there is a way, there is a light, there is an understanding, there have been failures and there are needs for help. Then help CONSCIOUS- LY is sought! Hence the entity passes along those stages that some have seen as planes, some have seen as steps, some have seen as cy- cles, and some have experienced as places." I've corrected his birth time, otherwise the next paragraph is verbatim what I have already written based on Kirkpatrick's excellent biography 'Cayce, an American Prophet' which itself listed "3:20pm":
Edgar Cayce Jr. was born to Leslie Burr & Carrie Elizabeth Major-Cayce about 1:30 p.m. local time (GMT -5:50), Sun's day 18 March anno Domini 1877 in a two-room cottage located behind the Beverly Store near the intersection of Palmyra Pike & La- Fayette Road about 7.5 miles SSW of Hopkinsville Kentucky (now Beverly Memorial Ln. & Old Palmyra Rd); precise USGS coordinates 087W31:36 36N45:23.
Edgar Jr. was called "Junior" to distinguish him from his father's older brother Edgar, who was a regular visitor. Dr. John L. Dulin was resident physician (of Beverly), present at Edgar's birth.
