Different Astrologies Quiz, How Do You Measure Up?

hellenstic astrology

Recently a friend ask me for advice in choosing astrology teacher. It turned out that each possible teacher  belonged to a different astrological tradition so I thought it would be a very good idea to explain some of the differences between the various traditions.

Chris Brennan explains Hellenistic astrology as

Hellenistic astrology was the original tradition of ‘horoscopic astrology’ that was developed sometime around the 1st century BCE. In the course I take people on a detailed trip through the history, philosophy and techniques of this ancient tradition of astrology. Unlike modern astrology, most traditional forms of astrology are more explicitly directed towards timing and prediction, rather than say, psychology or character analysis.

I was always a new age astrologer myself so all my learning was focused on things like challenges, opportunities, lessons and personal growth. I suppose it just completes my other spiritual training, but what I asked Ruby my friend and what you need to ask yourself is what kind of skills you want to develop when you choose to study astrology.

If you’re main interest is on understanding the psyche of yourself and other people then traditional or the newer versions of the traditional astrology are the best option for you, if you’re interested in predictions and time frame for your lives and the lives of other I would recommend Hellenistic astrology, if you are interested in karma, past lives and the eastern world view then Vedic astrology can really be interesting for your purpose.

Remember that the more accurately you define what you want to gain the more chance you have of actually getting it.
