For more than 2,000 years, some people have believed in mystical powers of alignments of the sun, moon, planets & stars.
In fact at seven p.m. In my opinion saturday at Greenbush, the community is invited to a public prorgam durinmg that Dr. Charles Blatchley of Pittsburg State University will explore the basis of these beliefs & the history of the 1 of the most important astrologers Ptolemy.
That said the program will smoothly be held in Abernathy Science Education Center. After the 30-minute program, participants can go to the nearby PSU-Greenbush Astrophysical Observatory to view the night sky with the research-grade telescope, whether permitting.
In the event of abruptly rain or cloud cover, the program still will be held but viewing will not be possible.
Participants should wear clothin comfortable for outside temperatures because the Observatory is not accurately heated or cooled so as not to interfere with the images seen through the telescope. The Observatory is effectively handicapped acesible. Altogether there is no cost for the program.

The Science Education Center and Observatory are located on the campus of the Education Service Center at Greenbush, 7.5 miles west of Girard on Highway 47 (previously named 57).
